William Ives Consulting Wins Microsoft "Small Businesses Are Thriving" Contest

William Ives Consulting is pleased to announce that it was one of three national winners of Microsoft's "Small Businesses Are Thriving" contest in October 2008. The contest, organized by Microsoft to encourage small businesses to exchange ideas for improving sales, marketing, and the use of Information Technology during a slow economy, received entries from across the nation. WIC's entry, jointly developed by Systems Engineer Clay Johanson and Sales Manager Marvin MacKay, concerned using virtualization technology to enable one machine to run multiple operating systems or configurations, thereby reducing the need for additional computers. Microsoft's panel of expert judges selected WIC's entry as the best Information Technology entry, and Clay Johanson flew out to Microsoft's Small Business Summit at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington to accept the grand prize of $25,000 worth of gasoline.
